Righthaven LLC -- a bottom feeding legal outfit -- has teamed up with the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Denver Post to sue mom and pop websites, advocacy and public interest groups and forum board operators for copyright infringement. The strategy of Righthaven is to sue thousands of these website owners, who are primarily unfunded and will be forced to settle out of court.

First Righthaven Trial Canceled; Defendant's Attorney Calls Trolling Group 'Bizarre'

First Righthaven Trial Called Off
During the hearing, [Judge] Dawson canceled a trial set for Nov. 7 and — as Righthaven suggested — issued the show cause order.
In response to a reporter's question after the hearing, Kelleher’s attorney, Andrew Dhuey of Berkeley, Calif., said it seemed unusual that he had to travel to Las Vegas for a 15-minute hearing on an issue that could have been resolved weeks ago without a court proceeding.

Duehy, who is representing Kevin Kelleher pro bono because of his affiliation with the EFF, added that the lawsuit against his client was unfortunate; the website only recieves about 10 hits per day.
