Chrome, Safari, FireFox and Internet Explorer have built in features and/or extensions that can be added. Below are the instructions for BlockSite, a FireFox extension, along with the Site Block list.
Instructions for BlockSite
- Install the following FireFox plugin: BlockSite, by Erik van Kempen.
- If you are on a Windows-based machine, go to: Start > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad. Leave Notepad open, you will need to return shortly.
- Return to your browser and Copy (CONTROL + C) the below list (just between the dashed lines, do not include the dashed lines). Return to Notepad and Paste (CONTROL + V).
- This puts the list in Notepad. Now pick File, Save in Notepad, and save the file in My Documents with the file name RightHavenBlockList.txt.
- Next go to: Tools > Add-ons in your copy of FireFox and click the Preferences button for the BlockSite add-on.
- Make sure the blacklist radio button is selected and use the import button to import your list from My Documents\RightHavenBlockList.txt.
- Enable BlockSite, warning messages, and link removal.
Note: If you have problems with the Long List, please try the Short List instead. The latter includes just the central threats and may run smoother in BlockSite.
